2025 Special Education Parent Summit
The 2025 Special Education Parent Summit brought together families, educators, and advocates for a day of learning, connection, and empowerment. Attendees explored resources and strategies to better support children with unique learning needs.
The event featured inspiring keynote speaker Cody Clark, an inspiring magician whose autism isn’t just part of his journey; it’s his superpower. Cody shared his journey through magic and storytelling weaving personal experiences, humor, and heartfelt storytelling into performances that break barriers and connect audiences in meaningful ways. Families also had the opportunity to learn from experts in education, advocacy, transition planning, and legal rights.
Breakout sessions covered topics such as:
- IEP development for elementary through high school
- Supported decision-making and legal options
- Pre-Employment transition services and postsecondary programs
- The April Dunn Act and alternate graduation pathways
- Dispute resolution and family-school collaboration
- Inclusive practices from LASARD
The Summit was a celebration of progress, partnership, and the power of community in supporting every child’s success.
